Artist’s Statement                                                                                                                                                                         Self Portrait

I have loved art for as long as I can remember, it was always my favorite subject in school.  As a little girl I used to admire the horse and cowboy drawings my great grandpa Jorgensen drew. I have had the privilege of mentoring under famous LDS artist, Del Parson at Dixie College for four years while working toward my bachelor’s degree in art.  I had the honor of winning the painting student of the year for 2012. My favorite medium to paint with is oils. I love the Savior, sunsets, children and animals.    These are my favorite subjects to paint. I have a Bachelor's degree in art.  I believe I was blessed with a talent to help bless and bring comfort to the lives of others through my art and this is my intent.

I painted this painting because we all have times we need to know or someone we love needs to know of the love our Savior has for us. Sometimes we need the comfort of knowing our loved one who has passed on is with our Savior. Rather its for you or your loved we can all benefit from the peace and comfort of having a visual reminder that we are always wrapped in His love. Have your loved one painted in the Savior's arms.

"Olivia Hansen, Wrapped in His Love" 

This painting was done for a sweet family who lost their daughter, Olivia. A friend of the family commissioned me to paint it for them.  I felt a very special spirit as worked on this painting.

"Back In His Arms"

This painting was done for someone who lost a still born baby. Babies can be painted in the Savior's arms to bring peace and comfort to those who have lost them as a visual reminder of where they are.

I love to think of heaven and what it looks like. This is my interpretation of what Heaven is, a beautiful place full of peace, joy, happiness, dancing and laughter.

I did this painting because I love the Savior and I love sunsets. I often think of the sky as the canvas and the sunset as God's paint on the canvas to show us his love for us at the close of the day.

This painting was done of a sunset I took a picture of in my own backyard in Leeds.

"Fiddler on the Roof" 28x31, Pastels

My dad fell in love with this pastel when it was finished so I gave it to him for Father's Day. He had it professionally framed and hung it in his office at SUU until he retired.  He said it reminded him of Fiddler on the Roof, so that is where the title came from.

"Blue Eyes"11x14,Oils

This is a picture I did of my first rag doll kitten, Kitzi when we first got her as a kitten. This painting has become even more precious to me now as we just recently lost Kitzi at 8 mo. old to unexpected kidney disease. Pet oil portraits start out at $100 for an 11x14.

This is one of the Young Men that was killed in the tragic airplane accident in St. George. I did this painting for the Hafen family. It was a closed casket viewing so the family displayed this portrait next to the casket at the viewing. Commissioned painting. Not for sale.
